Pembrook Resourcing are currently seeking on behalf of their client a Commercial Truck Sales Manager.

The role -

The successful applicant would take control of the Commercial Truck Sales department and manage a medium size team on a day-to-day basis, this is a rewarding position for someone who has run a sales department before within a car dealership. 

 

The person –

·         Keep up to date with all changes in product or legislation

·         Manage Retail Truck sales executive(s), (hire, direct, train, review, and supervise).

·         Develop and implement sales strategy with the Sales Manager, for the region and each territory.      

·         Identify and agree target growth accounts, with agreement of the Sales Manager & Dealer Principal.  

·         Forecasts progressive, yet realistic annual and monthly goals and objectives for the department.

·         Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all salespeople.

·         Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for truck sales department.

·         Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with regulations that affect vehicle sales.

·         Explains, implements, and enforces dealership policies, emphasising customer satisfaction and a positive dealership image.

 

 

Key elements –

·         Monitors the productivity and planned itineraries of salespeople.

·         Assists individual salespeople in setting progressive, yet realistic monthly goals and objectives and provides them with the support to meet these goals.

·         Conducts sales training meetings and provides salespeople with continuous product and training resources.

·         Ensures proper follow-up of all potential buyers by developing, implementing, and monitoring a prospecting and sales control system.

·         Recommends manages the improvement process for any salesperson failing to meet dealership standards.

·         Analyses sales history and market conditions to determine inventory requirements and orders new trucks accordingly.

·         Increases the overall profitability of the dealership by successfully implementing manufacturer programs.

·         Maintains awareness of current market/wholesale values of used trucks for market area.

·         Buys used trucks from auctions, other dealerships, individual sellers etc.

·         Ensures that all trucks are reconditioned according to dealership and manufacturer quality and time guidelines.

·         Promotes teamwork in a customer-focused sales environment throughout the sales, delivery, and follow-up process.

·         Attends managers meetings as requested.

·         Other tasks as assigned.

·         Assume personal responsibility for a retail sales territory within our AOR 

·         Develop and maintain excellent product knowledge (product line, features and benefits, competitive strengths, and weaknesses), ability to understand customer application and develop appropriate specifications.

·         Manage corporate sales promotions for the region. 

·         Develop call plans in conjunction with DAF RSM's.  Ensure that call plans are regularly maintained.  Periodically review with the Sales Manager & the RSM.

·         Ensure prompt follow-up and resolution of all customer issues.

·         Ensure fast quote response time.     

·         Develop a close working relationship with other company departments       

·         Produce a budget strategy with the Sales Manager & present to DP

·         Participate in all ongoing training

·         Maintain a professional appearance
