Service Technician / MOT Tester

Grimsby | £35,000 Basic Salary | £55,000 OTE

39 hours per week | 1 in 2 Saturday mornings

We're looking for an experienced Service Technician / MOT Tester to join an established automotive dealership in Grimsby.

This is a varied role combining servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs with MOT testing responsibilities. You'll be joining a busy workshop and working with an exciting portfolio of modern, fast-growing automotive brands that are bringing something different to the UK market.

With a strong basic salary, excellent OTE and a 39-hour working week, this is an opportunity worth exploring for an experienced technician looking for their next move.

The Role

You'll play an important part in keeping vehicles safe, maintained and performing at their best.

Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs.
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
Completing vehicle inspections and health checks.
Carrying out MOT tests in line with DVSA standards.
Identifying and reporting additional work where required.
Using diagnostic equipment and technical information to investigate faults.
Completing repairs efficiently and to a high standard.
Working closely with the Service Advisors and wider workshop team.
Completing job cards and technical documentation accurately.
Following manufacturer repair methods and dealership procedures.
Maintaining high standards of workshop safety and housekeeping.
Keeping your technical knowledge and skills up to date through ongoing training.
This is a hands-on role with real variety. One day you may be completing routine servicing and MOTs, the next diagnosing a more complex fault or carrying out repair work.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a technician who knows their trade and takes pride in doing things properly.

You'll ideally have:

Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Service Technician.
A relevant automotive qualification, ideally Level 3 or equivalent.
A current MOT Tester licence.
Good diagnostic and fault-finding ability.
Strong mechanical and technical knowledge.
Excellent attention to detail.
The ability to work efficiently without compromising quality.
A proactive approach to problem-solving.
A positive and reliable attitude.
The ability to work well as part of a team.
A full UK driving licence.
Franchised dealership experience would be advantageous, but it isn't essential. If you're a strong technician with the right qualifications and a professional approach, we'd like to hear from you.
