This is an opportunity to join an established and growing automotive retail business in Reading, with a £30,000-£40,000 basic salary depending on experience and qualifications, a typical OTE of £50,000 and the potential for strong performers to earn up to £60,000.
THE OPPORTUNITYYou’ll be joining a professional workshop environment where quality workmanship, productivity and customer satisfaction all matter.
The package includes:
- £30,000-£40,000 basic salary, depending on experience and qualifications
- £50,000 OTE, with potential to reach £60,000 for strong performers
- Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
- Saturdays on a rota basis
- 45-hour working week
- 31 days holiday including Bank Holidays

This is predominantly a servicing, maintenance and repair role rather than a heavily diagnostic position, although you’ll need to be comfortable using current diagnostic equipment when required.

THE ROLE
- Service, maintain and repair customer vehicles to a high standard
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Use current diagnostic equipment when required to identify faults
- Follow manufacturer procedures and technical information
- Work towards agreed productivity and efficiency targets
- Deliver right-first-time workmanship across every job
- Complete accurate records and documentation for work carried out
- Work closely with Service Advisors and the wider aftersales team
- Help keep vehicles moving through the workshop efficiently and professionally
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORYou’ll need:
- Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician
- Time-served Technician status
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
- The technical ability to service, repair and maintain modern vehicles
- Confidence using current diagnostic equipment
- A proven track record of delivering right-first-time work
- Good communication skills
- A full UK driving licence
It would be great if you also have:
- Main dealership experience
- Manufacturer training or accreditation
- Experience working to workshop productivity and efficiency targets
- Additional diagnostic experience
- Experience with hybrid or electric vehicles
- MOT Tester qualification
